#10: Bizarre Foods at the Redondo Beach Boardwalk

Are you an Andrew Zimmern fan? I love his show Bizarre Foods, and while most of the dishes he eats make me squirm, there is one bizarre food that makes me salivate: uni. Uni is the Japanese word for sea urchin, and its creamy, briny flavor is loved by some and hated by most. (That's ok, more for me!)

If you aren't afraid of eating your uni while it's still moving, Quality Seafood at the Redondo Beach Boardwalk is a bizarre paradise come true. For only about $8, you can buy a live uni and eat it out of its shell while its black spines eerily move around. Be prepared for heads to turn as you eat your moving meal. I even had people ask if they could take a picture!

For the less adventurous, you can also find oysters, clams, fish, shrimp, lobster, crab, and many other fresh seafoods that they will cook or shuck for you. Just find a seat at one of the outdoor tables and dig in!
